Symantec

Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP), formerly known as Symantec AntiVirus, is a virus and spyware scanning program developed by Symantec Corporation. CUIT has purchased a site license for Symantec Endpoint Protection. If you are a Columbia University, Barnard, or UTS faculty, staff or student, you can download and install Symantec Endpoint Protection.

Columbia departments may be interested in the site-license for the LAN/Server Corporate edition. 

Download and Installation
(Current faculty, staff, and students of Columbia University, Barnard, or UTS are eligible to download. Teachers College affiliates must download antivirus software from Teachers College Computing.) 
 

1. Download the installer (required UNI login):
     v12.1 for Windows 7, Vista, and XP  (212MB)
     v12.1 for 64-bit versions of Windows (225MB)
     v10.1.6 for Windows 2000 (31MB)
   
   To keep your copy of Symantec Endpoint Protection up to date, please download and install the 10.1.6.6010 patch.
   
   Note versions 10.x will go "End of Life" July 4th, 2012. Link to Symantec page
   
     SEP 11.0.7 MP1 for Mac OS 10.5 and up (105 MB)
     v10.2.3 for Mac OS 10.5 and up (Snow Leopard) (133 MB)
     v10.2.1 for Mac OS 10.3.x - 10.5.x(72 MB)
   
   DO NOT install this for 10.6 (Or Snow Leopard)
   
     v9 for Mac OS 10.1.5 - 10.2.x (44 MB)
2. Save the installer to your hard drive, and make a note of the folder that you saved it in.
3. Run the installer. Restart your computer.
4. Configure Symantec Endpoint Protection for Windows using these instructions.
   
   Upgrading from a Previous Version
   • To upgrade, follow the download and installation instructions above.
