A

Anonymous call rejection
Reject incoming calls from anonymous callers. The caller will receive an announcement that the number does not accept anonymous calls; the phone will not ring; and the call will not appear in the phone's Missed Call directory. The caller will not be able to leave a voicemail message.

Automatic call processing/distribution
Automatic call processing/distribution will be implemented using Interactive Intelligence.

B

Bridged lines
(Also known as shared lines.) If two phones share a line, an incoming call to that line will cause both phones to ring. The call can be answered on either phone, but not both.

Broadcast voicemail
Broadcast messages will be delivered to your phone or as email, according to the delivery option you have chosen.

Call forward
Forward all incoming calls to another Columbia NetPhone number.

Call hold
Put a call on hold. See also Managing multiple calls on hold.

Call logs/lists
The phone maintains a local list of calls place, received, or missed (100 of each). You can dial directly from this menu.

Call park/pickup
Put a call on hold in a "parking lot" to allow someone else to dial the pickup extension to retrieve it.

Call waiting
Provides a rapid beeping sound to alert you that someone else is trying to reach you. Up to eight waiting calls per line are supported.

Caller ID
The phone will display the name and phone number of the person calling if the person is another Columbia NetPhone or Rolmphone subscriber. You can block your outgoing caller ID on a call-by-call basis.

Conference calling
Establish a conference call between yourself and two other parties. If you need to create a conference with more than three participants, please contact CUIT. 

Contact directory
The phone stores a local directory of 500 contacts.

Dialing prefixes
Dialing prefixes are available for inter-campus tie-lines, long distance dialing, etc.

Distinctive ringing
External calls will be indicated by a double trill ring and internal by a single trill.

Do not disturb
Prevents the phone from ringing. Calls that come in while this feature is enabled will appear in your Missed Calls list.

E

Email/voicemail integration
By default, you will receive copies of your voicemail messages as attachments in email. See also Voicemail Delivery Options.

Emergency 911 calling
Dial 99 to reach Morningside Public Safety, or 911 to reach the NYC 911 command center.

Forward all calls
Forward all incoming calls to another Columbia NetPhone number.

Greetings
(outgoing messages) Record separate greetings fro internal and external calls, as well as a temporary greeting for when your normal routine is interrupted, e.g. when you're away. The temporary greeting overrides the other two. You don't need to re-record your regular greetings when you return to work; simply delete the temporary greeting to re-activate them.

Headset
The phone has an integrated headset jack and a headset selection button.

Hunt groups
Calls ring sequentially on up to 10 phones. This feature is most commonly used by groups or departments that receive a high volume of calls which can be handled by any member of the group.

I

Intercom
Intercom lines are available with NetPhone.

Multiple lines
The basic phone (Polycom 450) has two lines and the more advanced (Polycom 650) has six, expandable to 48 with "sidecars."

Mute
Pressing the mute button prevents the party on the other end of the call from hearing you.

If you forget your voicemail password, you can set a new one with myNetPhone.

Personal security code
Allows charging a call on a restricted line by prefixing the call with a special code.

Picking/parking a call 
Put a call on hold in a "parking lot" to allow someone else to dial the pickup extension to retrieve it.

Redialing a number
You can redial previously called numbers.

Rejecting anonymous calls

Restricted calling
Limits the types of calls that can be made from the unit. The six types are on-campus, inter-campus, local, domestic long distance, international, and pay-per call.

Speakerphone
Enjoy hands-free communication during a call.

Speed dial
Assign numbers to people in your contact directory, and dial their numbers by selecting them from a menu. Speed dial entries will be assigned consecutively to available line keys.

Split a conference call
Split a conference into separate calls.

Stutter dialtone
Provides a stutter dialtone to alert you to new voicemail messages.

Tielines
Dialing prefixes are available for inter-campus tie-lines, long distance dialing, etc.

Three-way calling
Establish a conference call between yourself and two other parties. If you need to create a conference with more than three participants, please contact CUIT. 

Transfer a call
Transfer a call with or without speaking to the person who is to receive the call. If the call was forwarded by someone using a Rolmphone, you will see that the call has been forwarded. If it was forwarded by someone using a NetPhone, you will not.

V

Voicemail
Your voice mailbox can hold 50 messages, each up to three minutes long.

Voicemail delivery options
You can choose among four different delivery options: telephone only, email only, telephone with email notification, or telephone and email delivery. If you choose to have voicemail delivered to email, you will be able to listen to your messages on your computer.

Voicemail referral extension
Dialing 0 transfers to a referral extension you can set via myNetPhone.
