Research Computing Services

CUIT's Research Computing Services (RCS) team provides information technology infrastructure to empower Columbia University's research community, and acts as a liaison between researchers and resources like the Office of Research Initiatives and the Libraries/Information Services, to support our continued reputation as a driver of innovation.

Our Services

Shared Research Computing Facility

Our High Performance Computing (HPC) service provides a cluster of computing resources that power transactions across 24 research groups and departments at the University, as well as additional projects and initiatives as demand and resources allow.

We also assist Columbia researchers in accessing an allocation on the Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE), the most advanced, powerful, and robust collection of integrated digital resources and services in the world.

Research Computing Support

Additionally, our team provides consultation and information on other free and fee-based resources for researchers, including documentation on our own High Performance Computing environment, as well as links to third-party computing resources, access to Columbia research support groups, and related workshops.
