Personal Space on the Server
We ensure the security of your personal files by providing each user with 500 MB (megabyte) of space on the server for personal critical data. The file server is backed up nightly, so your data is protected. You also have the ability to share the files in your personal directory on Central with your colleagues.
The cost of a personal account on the Central Server is $21.85/month/account.
You can also have a combination of the Exchange and Central Server access for $31.00 per month/user.
Workgroup Space on Central
CUIT also provides Workgroup Space, a Central service that allows you to share files effortlessly among your colleagues. We offer hard disk space (in 1 gigabyte increments) that can provide your office with a private, secure workgroup space to share information, data, and any specialized applications that your office staff members use. Workgroup space can hold your office's custom, multi-user database or a set of standard office forms or documents. The space is completely defined by your office needs.
Access Permissions for Central Shared Resources
CUIT has documented the process to restructure and maintain Active Directory folder permissions on the central file server. This practice, to be done on an annual basis, will ensure compliance with Internal Audit's annual certification requirements. This process will make certain that access to resources on CUIT's central server is granular and role-based. The CUIT Client Services (CSS) group is happy to consult with your departmental liaison regarding your shared directories and permissions. Please note that this service is only available to central administrative departments and will be fee-based. Contact 212-854-1919 and reference Active Directory Restructuring Process, Current State Word and Visio documents under related links for details.
