How to Remove the TikTok Application From Windows and iOS Devices

On June 2, 2023, the federal government issued a new rule (“Prohibition on a ByteDance Covered Application”) prohibiting the presence or use of the social networking service TikTok on specific Information Technology (“IT”) used by federal contractors. The prohibition applies to TikTok or any successor application or service developed or provided by ByteDance or a company owned by ByteDance. Please follow these instructions to remove TikTok from a device.

Windows 10

  1. Right Click on Start Icon (Microsoft Icon) → Select Apps and Features
  2. Search for TikTok
  3. Click on ...
  4. Select Uninstall

Windows 11

  1. Right Click on Start Icon (Microsoft Icon) → Select Installed Apps
  2. Search for TikTok
  3. Click on ...
  4. Select Uninstall

iOS/iPadOS

  1. Find the TikTok app
  2. Click and hold on TikTok
  3. Once the menu appears, select Remove App
  4. Select Delete App

Note: At this time, macOS does NOT have a TikTok application.
